A number of our local residents (your neighbors) have been working with Oceanside Community Safety and the RCMP in order to initiate citizen patrols for our area. These folks will be out and about day and night observing and reporting suspicious individuals and vehicles arriving into our community. Working together our goal is to make this a very bothersome and difficult place for any criminals to operate.
We are recruiting! If you are interested in joining our ranks there are applications available at the Store. Just let the staff know you want to join the Citizens on Patrol program. Volunteers are required to pass a basic criminal background (at no cost) and undertake an orientation. Participants are covered by liability insurance and are provided .35 per km mileage to offset some of the cost of patrolling. This is all about working together and protecting OUR Community.
