January / February 2011

Opening Bank Balance $1777.28

Work on Highway interchange project continues with study of vehicle cost and co2 savings started

Annie Donald proposes Halloween Bash at Meadowood community park.

March 2011

Hydro completes upgrade linking to power grid in Whiskey Creek and Shaw Cable completes install and provides tv and internet services in area. Work on Carbon savings and Vehicle savings with interchange onto highway 19 completed.

April/May

20,000 dollars promised for Meadowood community park  by RDN / POSAC redirected away to Errington Coombs park project. Letters of protest written. Planning for Halloween continues.

June 2011

Bar B Q and Information Meeting Poll taken 200 residents turn out to listen to current information and take a poll to let CMRA council know their opinion on tolls for highway access and OCP village center issues Poll results 89% in favor of toll access at a $1.00 on and off 19 and 95 % in favor of retaining our village core as stated in the area F Official community Plan. Start writing new Highway 19 Corcan Nahmint interchange proposal similar to Golden Ears Bridge proposal.

September 2011

Preparations for CMRA AGM and Silent Auction Get underway.

October 22nd

CMRA AGM and silent auction we raised 3,600.00 dollars for community projects through the silent auction as well as hosting the local candidates for area F and H directorial and school board races so our members could go to the polls informed about the candidates opinions.

October 31

CMRA and LQRV Strata volunteers put on First Annual Halloween Bash and Fireworks party at Meadowood Community Park with spooky Trail Hot dogs Hamburgers and Drinks free to all who attended.

November 9 2011

Community park bid for provincial grant monies supported by RDN  18,000 dollars committed to park planning for 2012

Bottle drive Raises over 800.00 dollars for community park

December 2011

Completed Informational section of Highways presentation booklet, cosmetics and Binding to be finished this month, for distribution to Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure in January 2012

December 2011

RDN and CMRA Joint venture recreation Package completed for submission to provincial government grant program with over 40 letters of support from our community.

Grant monies received for Halloween bash from Regional District of Nanaimo
