ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Dear Member or Resident,

Please join us at this years Annual General Meeting. Your Resident Association has been working hard to represent our area to all levels of government. We have also been working on various projects, not least of which is entering into an arrangement with the RDN to operate the Meadowood Community Recreation Centre. Details of this will be available at the meeting for membership and resident review. This is a big step and in support of this the resident association has completed a five year business plan outlining how we are going to operate this facility on your behalf.

In order to take on this role, the CMRA will also need to make a change to our mission statement by adding the following which will be presented to the members as a motion… “In connection with the Association’s lobbying efforts for services, the Association may lease and license real property for the purposes of providing those services on behalf of the Regional District, and may operate those services. Specifically, the Association may lease and license real property for the purposes of providing a community centre on behalf of the Regional District, and may operate a community centre service.” This change can only be ratified at the AGM and must be supported by the CMRA membership.

We have also been working with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation as well as our MLA and local area director on improving secondary road access and will be updating members and residents of our ongoing efforts in this regard.

We need your support and your thoughts and we encourage you to renew your $20 membership for 2019-2020. All our your directors are volunteers and any fees collected are used to maintain our website, postage, signage and associated office expenses. All directors cover their own expenses. There will be a number of openings on the board for those who are interesting in giving back to our community while working to enhance our collective lifestyle.

Please take the time to join us for this important meeting.

Thank you, Chris Burger
President
